Apple AirTags are nifty little devices that help you track or find items like luggage, keys, backpacks and more.
The small, circular devices use Bluetooth and work with iPhones on the Find My network. The AirTag emits a signal that is detectable by any Apple device nearby. That signal is then shared to help you locate what you’re looking for. Apple says the entire process is “anonymous and encrypted to protect your privacy.”
When you buy AirTags, they are immediately ready to use (and ready to pair with your Apple ID), but they will eventually need a new battery.
Watch this video to see how to replace the battery in an AirTag.
How to replace AirTag battery
AirTags are not rechargeable, so the battery needs to be replaced when it gets low or dies. A notification will appear on your phone when it's time. A low battery notice will also show up in the Find My App.
